Charleston native, Jonathan Ory has spent the last several years training and working in some of the hottest restaurants in the Chicago fine dining scene. After getting his start at the Nuevo-Latino/Pilipino restaurant Coobah, Jonathan took a Sous Chef position at Heat Restaurant expanding his experience to encompass traditional and contemporary Japanese Cuisine. Most recently Jonathan has been the Assisting Chef at the acclaimed Schwa, alongside 2006 Food and Wine Magazine best new chef Michael Carlson. In February of 2010 Jonathan moved back to the Southeast and is currently working at Restaurant Eugene in Atlanta with three-time James Beard nominee Linton Hopkins creating seasonal, farm to table style, fine dining cuisine. Jonathan is passionate about combining his culturally broad culinary influences to create uniquely exciting, artistic, contemporary fine dining dishes.

Shawn Thackeray began farming this 200 acres of land located a mere mile from the Atlantic Ocean many years ago with his father-in-law when it was all planted in tomatoes. Today Shawn owns this land, where he dedicates 20 acres to grow heirloom tomatoes and has expanded the rest to grow a diverse roster of specialty vegetables and several varieties of wildflowers. Thackeray Farms is currently transitioning our sustainable farming practices to organic in order to improve the condition of the soil and the surrounding water and to provide the healthiest working environment for our employees.
